Had the fried whole clams with the house made onion rings and both were delicious! The clams and onion rings were the best we have had in a long time! And, our serving gal, Ronnie, was great ~ very pleasant and what I would call a "hoot", meaning a great personality!
Beer was great, had the Viper Ale. Waitress was prompt and friendly. Food was bad and management was terrible. I witnessed the manager pee in the bathroom and exit without washing his hands and then head back to the bar. Disgusting. He was an older gentleman wearing a red Sunday River Brewing T-shirt. Lobster roll had only spongy overcooked claw meat. Burger was also overcooked. Chili was pretty good. Wings were decent, though not crispy. We complained about the lobster roll expecting to receive a comp or different meal offered, but management offered us old stale donuts in a display case at the entrance. Won't be wasting $75 here again unless management changes hands. Such stupid management, way to lose local customers.
Their beers are pretty good, especially the porter. I had the fish sandwich, and it was good, not greasy at all. They put real bacon crumbles on their salads, too, not nasty bacon bits, and fresh shave parmesan. The dining room is very room, and there's a lot of bar space. Good place to relax and throw back a few cold ones.
Early skiing was awesome. Conditions were very good for pre season. Intermediate and advanced skiing only.
SO much better now that it’s under new management. Awesome menu, delicious beer (Black Bear Porter!) and nice outdoor seating.
